1. Park Street Pizza

- parkstreetpizza.com
- Gourmet Pizzas
Do you avoid veggies on your pizza? You may need to try a plump, juicy, heirloom tomato on it instead.
Park Street Pizza in Sugarcreek, one of the best Amish towns in the area, prioritizes only the freshest ingredients for toppings on their homemade pizzas. All ingredients come from Sweetwater Farm, and the two businesses are chummy. Our personal favorite? The Colossal Italian, with organic sausage on top. Yum.
We love Park Street Pizza for their innovative takes on food that center on locally sourced ingredients. For example, it’s not uncommon to see them experiment with new veggie medleys for a topping combination. They also plan to release more seasonal menus for pizzas to offer customers more variety.
If all that wasn’t enough, you’ll feel great supporting a business that cares about its community. Park Street Pizza’s owners are frequent attendees to community events and fundraisers, festivals, charity races, and more.

Are you a sucker for a perfectly crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside crust? Dola Jeans in Dover, Ohio, is a fantastic option with their tender, Detroit-style Crust. This makes for the perfect foundation for fresh, melt-in-your-mouth cheese and wholesome toppings.
If you don’t mind having a little garlic breath, you’ll love the Cat’s Meow! It’s got a creamy mix of fresh ricotta, garlic, and garlic oil —- simply a dream! Traditionalists will still enjoy the Yoouzh, which is made with fresh basil, tomato sauce, and Ezzo pepperoni.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Dover, and all our guests come back raving after we recommend it!
3. Gionino’s Pizzeria
- 118 N Wooster Ave, Dover, OH

- Famous Ohio pizza chain
If you love a generous helping of cheese on your pizza, Gionino’s delivers that tenfold. We love their unique way of making pizza, where they put the toppings underneath the cheese. They have two nearby locations: one in Dover and another in New Philadelphia, so you can plan a visit around diverse itineraries.
You might also know them from other Ohio cities, as they have 50+ locations across the state.
Gionino’s offers a few off-the-beaten-path pizza varieties, like their white cheddar and provolone mac-and-cheese pizza or the refreshing spinach-basil caprese!
4. Pangrazio’s Pizza
- 223 W 3rd St, Dover, OH
- $
- facebook.com/pangraziosdover
- Old-school pizza shop
There’s something so satisfyingly old school about stopping by Pangrazio’s in Dover. Maybe it’s the black-and-white checkered tablecloths, friendly staff, or irresistible aromas that waft through the shop.
Of course, the pizza delivers and surpasses your expectations as you hold the convenient, square-shaped slice and take a bite, with melted cheese, homemade sauce, and olive-oil glistening pepperoni indulging your taste buds.
Our favorite menu items include breadsticks, meaty mac salad, mushroom rotini, homemade meatballs, and, of course, the traditional pepperoni pizza.
5. Penso’s Pizza

- 201 E Front St, Dover, OH
- $
- pensospizza.com
- Traditional Italian pizza
Founded by Italian immigrant Paul Penso 88 years ago, Penso’s Pizza has remained a Dover pizza staple for three generations. Truth is, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. The fluffy but crisp dough makes for an incredible crust. Plus, the team at Penso sources ingredients locally, so you can taste the difference in something as small as a slice of pepperoni.
While this joint used to be cash-only for many years, they now accept credit cards for more convenient payment. Take a seat and taste a pizza that’s been perfected over time, since 1936. Vegetarians will enjoy the Paul & Mary Pizza, made with satisfying Pecorino Romano cheese, garlic, olive oil sauce, and mozzarella. And if you crave something meatier, go for The Meats, which has ham, sausage, and pepperoni.
Don’t forget to order the cinnamon sticks for dessert! They’re to die for!
