What Spring Is Like in Amish Country
Spring is when Amish Country comes alive! It is a time of revitalized, renewed energy as preparations for planting season begin. Spring runs from March through May. Each month has its own personality.
- March still feels close to winter. Expect highs in the 40s and 50s, chilly mornings, and the occasional late snow. The ground begins to thaw, and you’ll see farm equipment getting ready for planting season.
- April brings steadier warm weather, blooming trees, and more activity on the farms. Rain showers are common, so pack accordingly.
- By mid May, temperatures often reach the upper 60s and 70s. The countryside is fully green, and garden centers and greenhouses are in full swing.
Spring weather changes quickly here. One day can feel warm and bright, the next cool and rainy. That mix is part of the charm of a country spring.
